Atlantic Airways is the national airline of the Faroe Islands, operating international passenger services as well as search and rescue responsibilities from its base at Vágar Airport, on the Faroese island of Vágar.
Vágar March 28, 1988. It was a day of celebration for the Faroese nation who for the first time was able to fly with Faroese wings. A combination of determination, luck and chance made the Faroese dream of having a national airline come true.
